Elche vs Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad made the long trip to the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero on Monday, 7 September 2026, and came away with all three points after a 2-3 win over Elche in a game that swung heavily their way early on. The visitors were two goals to the good by half-time, controlling the opening period and giving Elche a mountain to climb after the break. Elche did find a way back into it after the restart, pulling two goals back and turning what looked like a comfortable away win into a genuinely nervy finish. But Real Sociedad held their nerve when it mattered and made sure the fightback fell just short. It ends 2-3, a result that will sting for Elche given how the first half went, while Real Sociedad will simply be glad to get out of there with the points on the road.

Elche 2-3 Real Sociedad was the final score at Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero, in a game where Real Sociedad did enough across the ninety minutes to deserve the three points. Even without the extra share of possession, which finished 58% in favour of Elche, Real Sociedad made the most of the chances that mattered and did enough to see the game out. The shot count told a similar story, with 20 attempts from Elche against 13 from Real Sociedad over the course of the game. It was not always comfortable for Real Sociedad, and Elche pushed for a way back into the game, but the result stood. Games like this can carry real weight later in the season, so this is a scoreline worth remembering. Below is a closer look at how the match broke down, statistically.
