Real Madrid was founded in 1902 and has called the Santiago Bernabéu home for decades, establishing itself as one of football's most dominant institutions. In the Spanish game, Madrid's dominance has been almost suffocating. They've won La Liga 36 times, with titles stretching back to 1931-32 and continuing into the modern era—most recently in 2023-24. But if La Liga is the bread and butter, Europe is where Madrid's legend truly took flight. José Mourinho

José Mourinho returns to Real Madrid for a second spell in charge, having been appointed in June and taking over in July 2026. The Portuguese manager previously led the club from 2010 to 2013, and most recently managed Benfica during the 2025-26 season.
