Brighton & Hove Albion was founded in 1901, emerging from the South Coast as one of English football's younger clubs. Based at the Amex Stadium, they've spent over a century establishing themselves as a fixture in the English game, though their path to prominence has been anything but straightforward. The club's identity is rooted in the seaside town and the surrounding area, drawing support from a distinctive corner of the country.

The trophy cabinet tells a story of solid mid-level success punctuated by rare brushes with glory. They won the Southern League in 1909-10, followed by multiple Third Division titles across the decades—1957-58, 2001-02, and 2010-11—and claimed Fourth Division championships in 1964-65 and 2000-01. In 1910 they shared the FA Charity Shield, but the club's closest approach to silverware came in 1983 when they reached the FA Cup final, ultimately finishing as runners-up.

For most of their existence, Brighton remained outside the top flight or passed through it briefly. That changed dramatically in 2022-23 when they finished sixth in the Premier League—their highest ever top-flight finish—and secured European qualification for the first time in the club's history. It represented a significant moment, validation of the direction the club had been travelling.
