About AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth was founded in 1899 and has spent most of its existence as a fixture in the lower reaches of English football. The club plays at the Vitality Stadium, which has been home for generations of supporters who've weathered the ups and downs that come with being a smaller outfit in a competitive league system.

For decades, Bournemouth was the kind of club that bounced around the divisions without ever quite establishing itself at a higher level. That changed in 1986-87 when they won the Football League Third Division title, a genuine high point that showed what was possible with the right circumstances. A few years later came the Associate Members' Cup in 1984. But it wasn't until the 2014-15 season that Bournemouth truly announced themselves as a serious proposition, winning the EFL Championship and earning promotion to the top flight. That achievement represented a genuine watershed moment for the club.

Despite these honours, Bournemouth has never won the FA Cup or League Cup, and has never claimed a major top-flight league title. Still, the path from a small seaside club to consistent players in English football's upper reaches is a story of genuine ambition and improvement over time.
