Valencia CF was founded in 1919 and has called Mestalla home ever since, building one of Spanish football's most enduring institutions in the process. The club's roots run deep in the city, and over more than a century they've established themselves as genuine heavyweights of the game.

The trophy cabinet tells a story of sustained success across different eras. Valencia won their first La Liga title in 1941-42, then added another two in the 1940s before claiming a fourth in 1970-71. The real golden period came around the turn of the millennium, when the club won back-to-back league titles in 2001-02 and 2003-04. That second title came as part of an exceptional run that also brought European glory—they won the UEFA Cup that same season. Those years at the start of the 2000s also saw them lift the UEFA Super Cup twice, in 1980 and 2004.

In the Copa del Rey, Valencia have been remarkably consistent winners, lifting the trophy eight times across the decades. They've also won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and the Supercopa de España once apiece. It's a record that reflects a club capable of competing at the highest level, whether domestically or on the continental stage.
