Real Betis Balompie

About Real Betis Balompie

Real Betis Balompie have been part of the fabric of Seville since 1907, and that green-and-white identity still means something distinct in a city split down the middle by football. While their neighbours across town have built a reputation on European nights, Betis have always carried themselves as the club of the people, the ones who feel every high and low a little more personally. That bond with their support is really the club's defining trait, more than any single trophy.

The history books show one La Liga title, won back in 1934-35, a достижение that still gets talked about in Seville even now given how long ago it happened. There have been three Copa del Rey wins too, in 1976-77, 2004-05 and 2021-22, each one landing decades apart and each one sparking scenes in the city that outsiders probably can't quite understand unless they've lived there. Betis have also spent plenty of time yo-yoing between divisions across their history, picking up seven Segunda División titles along the way, from 1931-32 right through to 2014-15.

More recently, the club reached a European final, finishing runners-up in the 2024-25 UEFA Conference League. It wasn't the trophy they wanted, but it showed a club still capable of reaching for something bigger, playing their home games at the Benito Villamarin in front of a crowd that never really stops believing.
