About Sevilla FC

Sevilla FC was founded in 1890 and has been based at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium, one of Andalusia's great football homes. The club's roots run deep in the city, and over more than a century they've established themselves as one of Spain's genuine powers, particularly in the modern era.

The silverware tells an interesting story. Sevilla won La Liga once, back in 1945-46, but it's their record in cup competitions that really stands out. They've lifted the Copa del Rey five times across the decades, with victories in 1935, 1939, 1947-48, 2006-07, and 2009-10. The Supercopa de España came their way in 2007, but it's in Europe where they've been genuinely exceptional. Seven Europa League titles—a record for the competition—arrived between 2005 and 2023, a remarkable run of success that includes back-to-back wins and demonstrated their ability to compete at the highest level. They also won the UEFA Super Cup in 2006.

That European pedigree has defined modern Sevilla. While a single league title might seem modest on paper, their consistency in cup competitions and their unmatched record in the Europa League speaks to a club that's learned how to win when it matters.

Head Coach

Luis García Plaza

Luis García Plaza took charge at Sevilla in late March, replacing Matías Almeyda in the dugout. The Madrid-born coach arrives after a three-year spell managing Deportivo Alavés, which ended in December 2024.
