Atalanta edged out Sassuolo 2-1 at the Gewiss Stadium in a match that swung in the hosts' favour despite their visitors creating the better chances. The Bergamo side went in ahead at the break, then added a second after the interval to put themselves in control. Sassuolo pulled one back to set up a tense finish, but Atalanta held on. Giacomo Raspadori was outstanding for the victors, earning the official Man of the Match award with a display that showcased his quality throughout. The statistics painted an interesting picture of how the game unfolded. Sassuolo had more shots overall with 22 to Atalanta's 14, and actually managed eight on target compared to seven, suggesting they came close to punishing their hosts on several occasions. Both sides earned four corners apiece in an evenly contested affair. Ultimately though, Atalanta's clinical finishing when it mattered proved the difference, keeping them competitive in the Serie A title race.
