Roma needed a bit of patience against Genoa at the Olimpico on Saturday, 17 October 2026, with the first half offering little in the way of breakthroughs. Nothing separated the two sides at the break, the scoreboard reading 0-0 and the home crowd growing a touch restless with the lack of end product. Genoa held firm for long stretches and looked like they might nick something out of Rome, but that all changed after the restart. Roma came out with far more purpose in the second half and found their rhythm, eventually running out 2-0 winners. The goals settled any nerves and gave the home side a comfortable finish to what had been a tight, scrappy contest for long periods. For Genoa, it's a disappointing trip back north, having matched Roma for 45 minutes before fading. For Roma, three points at home keep them ticking along nicely in Serie A and will do wonders for confidence heading into the next round of fixtures.
