Alverca made the trip to Estádio da Madeira on Saturday, 12 September 2026 and left with the points after a comfortable afternoon against Nacional. The visitors were ruthless early on, putting the game to bed before the break as they raced into a 0-3 lead at half-time. Nacional simply couldn't find a way back into it during that opening period and were made to pay for a sluggish start. The home side did improve after the restart and got themselves on the scoresheet, but it was too little, too late as Alverca held on comfortably to seal a 1-3 win. For Nacional, it's a result that will sting given how one-sided the first half was, and questions will be asked about that slow start. Alverca, on the other hand, will take plenty of confidence from such an assured away performance in the Primeira Liga.
The Matchup
Nacional 1-3 Alverca was the final score at Estádio da Madeira, in a game where Alverca did enough across the ninety minutes to deserve the three points. Even without the extra share of possession, which finished 57% in favour of Nacional, Alverca made the most of the chances that mattered and did enough to see the game out. The shot count told a similar story, with 13 attempts from Nacional against 10 from Alverca over the course of the game. It was not always comfortable for Alverca, and Nacional pushed for a way back into the game, but the result stood. Games like this can carry real weight later in the season, so this is a scoreline worth remembering. Below is a closer look at how the match broke down, statistically.
