Rio Ave vs Nacional

Rio Ave edged out Nacional 3-2 at the Estádio do Rio Ave Futebol Clube on Sunday, 11 October 2026, in a Primeira Liga clash that had plenty of twists before the home side came out on top. The visitors matched them for long spells and went in level at the break, 1-1, after an open and scrappy first half where neither defence looked entirely settled. The second half proved decisive, with Rio Ave finding the extra goals needed to edge a game that could easily have gone either way. For the home crowd, it was a result worth savouring given how tight things were at half-time. Nacional will be frustrated not to have taken something from a match they contributed so much to, especially after cancelling out Rio Ave's early lead before the break. Three points lifts the mood around the home dressing room heading into the next round of fixtures, while Nacional will need to regroup quickly after a defeat that stings more for how close they came to avoiding it.

Rio Ave 3-2 Nacional was the final score at Estádio do Rio Ave Futebol Clube, in a game where Rio Ave did enough across the ninety minutes to deserve the three points. It was not always comfortable for Rio Ave, and Nacional pushed for a way back into the game, but the result stood. Games like this can carry real weight later in the season, so this is a scoreline worth remembering. Below is a closer look at how the match broke down, statistically.
