LAFC finally broke through in the second half to claim a narrow 1-0 victory over FC Dallas at BMO Stadium, though it came after a goalless first forty-five minutes. The hosts controlled possession for long stretches but Dallas proved stubborn in defense and actually had the better chances on the day, firing 14 shots compared to LAFC's 8. David Martínez Morales was the difference-maker, earning the official nod as man of the match with a performance that tilted the balance when it mattered most. Both sides had five shots on target, but it was LAFC who found the back of the net when it counted. The result keeps the home side in the playoff picture, though they'll know they need to be more clinical in front of goal. Dallas had their chances—they won seven corners to LAFC's four and put pressure on throughout—but couldn't capitalize on a night where they probably deserved more. Still, the Californians ground out the three points, which is what counts in the end.
