Nashville dominated this one at Geodis Park, controlling the game from start to finish and running out 4-2 winners over Charlotte. The hosts were sharp early and led 2-1 at the break, but they really turned the screw in the second half to pull away convincingly. Sam Surridge was the standout performer, delivering an assured display that earned him man of the match honors. Nashville had significantly more of the ball and made their superiority count, particularly in the final third where they landed seven shots on target. Charlotte never quite got going despite their efforts to stay in the contest. They fashioned just a couple of chances on target and couldn't contain Nashville's attacking movement. The visitors had their moments, especially during patches in the first half, but once Nashville clicked into gear after the interval there was only going to be one winner. It's a convincing three points for the hosts and sends a statement about their ambitions this season.
