Middlesbrough turned it around in the second half to beat Lincoln City 2-1 at the Riverside, recovering from a shock deficit to claim the win. The visitors made the perfect start and went in ahead at the break, but Boro came out fighting after the interval and dominated possession throughout. With 76% of the ball and 23 shots compared to Lincoln's 10, the home side's superiority eventually told. Will Lankshear was influential in the comeback, earning the man of the match award with a commanding display as Middlesbrough found their rhythm and punished their struggling guests. It was a frustrating first half for the hosts, who struggled to break down a resolute Lincoln defence despite their territorial advantage. Once they clicked into gear though, there was only going to be one winner. The turnaround showed character and quality, and Boro will be pleased to have got the job done after such a sluggish start. The three points keep their campaign on track after a difficult opening 45 minutes.
